Kigali
Arrive at Kigali airport. City trip, visit Genocide memorial.

Day 2
Kigali - Akagera National Park
After breakfast, we drive to the Akagera National Park for a game drive in the afternoon.

Akagera game drives and boat-trip.

Day 4
Akagera - Kigali
Game drive in the morning. Picnic lunch at the top of Mt. Mutumba (1825 meters), with stunning panoramic views of the park. Transfer to Kigali afterwards.

Day 5
Kigali - Butare - Nyungwe
Today we drive to Butare, where we visit the National Museum. Afterwards proceed to Nyungwe Forest.

Day 6
Nyungwe Forest
Chimpanzee tracking and see the other monkey species.

Nyungwe Forest
Make a nature walk, go for birding, make the primate walk or do the waterfall trail. Visit the tea factory in the afternoon (optional).

Day 8
Nyungwe - Kibuye (Lake Kivu)
We drive to the Bugarama hot water springs (the largest and biggest natural spring in Rwanda) via Cyamudongo natural forest. It is possible to take a warm bath in the hot springs (optional). Afterwards we drive to River Rusizi for a day trip with lunch and fresh drinks. Afterwards we drive to Kibuye town.

Day 9
Kibuye - Gisenyi (Lake Kivu)
Relax at the lodge or at the shores of Lake Kivu. It is also possible to make a walk along the lake. Afterwards drive to Gisenyi.

Day 10
Gisenyi - Volcanoes National Park
Today we drive to the Volcanoes National Park, home of the mountain gorilla.

Day 12
Volcanoes National Park - Lake Ruhondo
Optional activities for today: Make a nature walk in the national park, visit the golden monkeys, climb a volcano, visit Diane Fossey's Grave or make another gorilla tracking. Afterwards we drive to Lake Ruhondo and Lake Burera, the Twin lakes.

Day 13
Lake Ruhondo - Kigali
Make a nature walk in a beautiful scenery or drive around the lakes. Visit the Musangabo Viewpoint or visit the Rusumo Falls. Afterwards we drive to Kigali.

Kigali - Flight
Transfer to the airport for your outbound flight

Price for a gorilla permit is $500 per person

The minimum number of persons for the scheduled trip is 2, the maximum number of persons is 12. The trip will be done with 4wd custom made safari vehicles, with the maximum 6 persons per vehicle.
Single supplement is $475 per person (when the trip is booked by 2 persons or more).

Gisakura Guesthouse is the only lodge inside Nyungwe Forest. This accommodation is low to medium budget (with private bathroom).
Ibis Hotel in Butare
Good hotel, good service, but the disadvantage is that it is 1,5 hours away from the national park.
